Scholarship Information

Due to generosity from the Youth Service Fund and Discipleship Ministries, we have limited scholarships available for YOUTH 2019, the national gathering for United Methodist youth and their leaders. We are able to offer need-based scholarships to help individuals and groups attend YOUTH 2019.  If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please read the following information closely and carefully.

Application Process

In order to maximize the impact of our limited funds, we have instituted the following guidelines and requirements.

  • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements of attending YOUTH 2019. (entering 6th grade of the 2019-20 school year through graduating seniors in the class of 2019, or approved adult chaperones from an attending church who will have responsibility for supervising youth)
  • Applicants must first solicit financial aid from their local church, district, conference, and jurisdiction before applying for a YOUTH 2019 scholarship.
  • Our application process is completely online. If you need a PDF or paper application, you may contact jnusbaum@umcdiscipleship.org for further instructions.
  • The congregation’s senior pastor must sign the statement of support and it must be emailed to youth2019@umcdiscipleship.org in order for an application to be considered complete.
  • The application deadline is January 1, 2019. Mailed applications must be postmarked by December 20, 2018. Email or faxed applications must be sent by January 1, 2019.
