Come learn the story of The Raise the Roof Academy, which opened in 2011 with 30 students and two teachers in Bwasandeku, Uganda for children who were not attending school because they could not afford to pay school fees. David and Marlene will share about their love story for these students in Uganda, and how the United Methodist Church connectional system has helped them impact thousands of lives by partnering with native leaders in the country. RTRA now has over 1,300 children in its Education Program for Nursery School, Primary School, Secondary School, and Vocational Training. The mission of Raise the Roof Academy is to educate the whole student by building relationships and education centers that cultivate a culture of learning and offer God’s love through empowerment opportunities. The vision of RTRA is to become a premier education system in rural Uganda where children are learning and sharing their gifts with the world.
