This workshop is designed to help youth leaders incorporate communication skills and social media platforms to share faith stories that are culturally appropriate and effective across various audiences. In today’s environment where so many messages are being sent in our direction, we have to learn how to recognize the benefits and potential disadvantages of some of this information. So, during our time together we will also learn how to identify trustworthy information sources and use these tools to help develop messages that are both relevant and credible.
Michelle Maldonado is the Director of Seeker Advertisement and Communications, or better known as Rethink Church, at United Methodist Communications in Nashville, TN. Michelle is originally from rural Central Florida. As the daughter of a UMC pastor, she has worked with the UMC from a young age and as a young adult, she has been working at UMCOM for four years. While her educational background is broadcast journalist, she recently completed a Doctor of Ministry. When Michelle is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
