Ministry As A Career – A Pilot Opportunity at YOUTH 2019

Ministry As A Career

A pilot opportunity at YOUTH 2019!

Already registered for YOUTH 2019, and interested in reserving your spot?

Not registered for YOUTH 2019 yet, but still interested in joining this experience?

Live in the Kansas City Area, and want to drive in just for this experience?

Are you that person who friends come to for late-night conversations about the meaning of life? Do you often find yourself walking a friend through a rough day, a crisis, or a big decision? Maybe you ask a lot of big questions yourself. These qualities already present in you, are some of the same gifts it takes to pursue a calling in ministry. Curious about what it means to become an ordained pastor in the UMC? Do you want everything you do to have meaning? Dori and Anne will help you discover how you might use your gifts for God’s purposes in the world alongside other youth who feel called to something special, just like you! You will look at your own life story, listen deeply to the stories of others, and figure out the next most faithful step on your leadership journey.

This special opportunity is unique at YOUTH 2019. It is the only 3-session long workshop for youth. It is the only workshop offered by the partnership of Discipleship Ministries and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry through the Young Clergy Initiative. It is the world premiere of a resource that will be offered throughout the UMC! If you want to participate, here’s more details:

  • There is a 50-person maximum group size for youth (or young adult volunteers!) in this workshop
  • July 11, 12, & 13 (Th, Fr, Sat) from 1:30-4pm you join the same group for deep discussions and pulling a part the idea that God is calling you to something awesome
  • This is the deepest-level workshop related to calling at YOUTH 2019
  • This workshop requires you to reserve your spot
  • It is during the afternoon workshop sessions, so you are choosing this opportunity over any other afternoon workshops, but you won’t miss anything else!
  • We will feed you! (yes, spiritually…but also with delicious food!!!)

Who is leading this experience? Awesome people, of course.
